Who is the World's Best Lucid Dreamer?
I threw this one in for fun.
I don't know the answer. Dr. Stephen LaBerge definitely gets kudos for gaining scientific credibility and getting the ball rolling. Creators of the more popular lucid dreaming web-sites are awesome for increasing the momentum of cultural awareness on our topic - Rebecca Turner from World-Of-Lucid-Dreaming seems to be the Queen right now. There are less public figures, including naturally talented dreamers capable of easily inducing lucidity and surpass most of us in raw dream-manipulation skill. A woman named Keelin (works with the Lucidity Institute) comes to mind (she helped me fix my NovaDreamer twice; thanks!). My goal is to make lucid dreaming available to any one. I really feel like the holy grail of lucid dream induction has not been discovered yet. Yes, the techniques taught here and elsewhere can GREATLY increase your likelihood of success, but nothing seems to work consistently for everyone, all the time. The mind is almost too good at habituating, and what worked last year (or yesterday) may no longer be sufficient for you (or me). Switching things up and trying new approaches is highly recommended if you are not reaching your targets, or if you hit a plateau. So, who is the best lucid dreamer? Maybe it's you! Time will tell. The person who can not only execute consistent induction, but also TEACH the skill to the masses, s/he will reign (take this lightly, it's not a competition). |
